June has been an eventful month. COVID restrictions are being lifted and summer is officially here! This month, we’re announcing new product features and releases that will make life easier for organizations. We have also added new content to help you make the most of Wild Apricot and better connect with members.

Also in this month's newsletter:

Product update

Quick Customization Panel

To make website customization faster and easier, you can now adjust the most commonly customized settings – like site backgrounds and menu visuals – without having to scroll through all the options. In the quick customization panel, you see the changes you make within the site preview when you hover over the corresponding setting.

You can find the quick customization panel when you click on Website in the main navigation and then select the Colors and styles tab.

Currently, this feature is only available for the Whiteboard, Fiesta, and Skyline theme, but will soon be made available to all themes. So, stay tuned!

Update from the Support Team

Adding a button

You can add a button to a site page so that visitors can click the button to...

  • jump to another page on your site
  • jump to a specific section within the same page or a section within another page on your site
  • jump to another site
  • send an email

You can add a button to a content gadget on either a site page or a page template, and in emails and event descriptions. For instructions on adding buttons, click here

Moving a registration to a different event

After someone has paid their event registration fee, you may need to move or transfer that registration to a different event without having to refund then collect the payment again. To move a paid registration, you cancel the original registration then register that person for the other event. With the payment now unsettled, you settle it against the new registration invoice.

For step-by-step instructions on moving a paid registration, click here

Mobile app for members email template

Did you know that the member directory is the most popular feature in our mobile member app? You can help members stay connected and update their information in the app, so you don’t have to. Members can access the mobile app once you select the Enable member app box under Settings and Mobile app, and then click Save settings.

We also created an email template to help you encourage members to download the app.

This template will be available in the early weeks of July. You'll be able to find it in Wild Apricot under Email and then Templates.

      Meet the Team

‘Coach’ Mark Faccia, Senior Onboarding Specialist

      Mark Faccia

Hey everyone! Coach Mark Faccia here. You may have seen my face around Wild Apricot a few times over the past few years, and it has been an absolute pleasure being able to help so many of you to grow and flourish! I grew up in Toronto, and after graduating from York University, I spent some time working with Online Accessibility and Health & Wellness before finding a home in 2015 with Wild Apricot.  I’ve seen some incredible developments unfold here in that time! From the inception of the Coaches, through dozens of product upgrades, to our annual ’Personifest’ user conferences, our Apricot family has positively blossomed.

Not only have I had the personal opportunity to help so many of you in your journey, but as you may hear me say often: you have all taught me a lot as well. The level of expertise, experience, and encouragement I’ve found from clients like you has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my job. I’m lucky to be able to find fulfilment each day through the opportunity to return that favor by making your lives easier through Wild Apricot. You truly are champions (even if your members don’t recognize it!)

Did you just make a change to update the thumbnails for email templates? Thank you!!! Big improvement. Might seem small but it is a nice feature.
