Recurring Donations Feature

If you work with a charity, nonprofit, church, or any other organization that accepts donations, this new feature could help you boost your revenue and make life easier for your donors.

Recurring donations are subscriptions to automatically donate to your organization at regular intervals. Your donors can set the amount they give so it suits their budget, and they can also choose how frequently they want to donate.

You can now add the option for regular giving to your donations form with just a few clicks. This is an exclusive feature for customers using Wild Apricot Payments. If you have Wild Apricot Payments (AffiniPay) connected as your payment system, you’re ready to start accepting recurring donations! If you’re using another payment system, click here to find out more about Wild Apricot Payments.

Support FAQs

Why are my blog posts and forum posts identifying Anonymous as the author?

Normally, blog posts and forum topics identify the author using their first and last name. There are two possible reasons why your posts and topics identify the author as Anonymous:

  • You’re an administrator but not a member

  • You’ve chosen to hide your profile from others in your privacy settings

To fix the issue of not being a member, you can set up a hidden membership level just for blog and forum authors. With this approach, you’d want to set the membership fee to zero, uncheck the option to allow the public to apply, and set the renewal period to Never.

If the problem is that you’ve hidden your profile, you need to check the Show profile to others option within your privacy settings.

How can I set an initial or default value for a form field?

You can set the initial or default value for multiple choice fields, radio button fields, and dropdown fields, so that the value you choose is preselected on the form where the field appears.

To set the initial or default value, select the field within the field list then click the item within the items list that you want to be the preselected value. Now, click the Select button beside that item and save your changes.

I’m getting notices from my payment provider about SCA. What is it and do I have to do anything about it?

Starting September 14th, 2019, a payment regulation called Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) is becoming mandatory for organizations based within the European Economic Area (EEA), an area that encompasses the European Union plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.

We will be supporting SCA for Stripe, PayPal Express Checkout, and PayPal Payments Standard, so if you are based in the EEA and accept online payments, we recommend you use one of the supported payment providers. If you are already using Stripe, PayPal Express Checkout, or PayPal Payments Standard, or if you’re not based in any of the EEA countries, you don’t have to do anything about this new regulation. Support for SCA will be included in the 7.3 release of Wild Apricot, currently planned for late August.

Meet the Team

Stephen Rowlinson, Onboarding Specialist

Hey there! My name is Stephen Rowlinson and I'm an Onboarding Specialist here at Wild Apricot. I joined our technical support team back in 2015, and I've likely spoken to, chatted with, or emailed a good number of you who are reading this right now!

One of my favorite hobbies is digital preservation and archiving. I love making backups of all sorts of obscure media to ensure that it remains accessible for future generations. I also play quite a few games on the side!

At Wild Apricot, I consult with people who are interested in the software to see if it has the functionality their organization is looking for. I also help answer any questions they have during their free trial period. We want to make sure you get a strong start on the platform so you can take advantage of all the benefits of our tools for automation.

To help you do that, we've developed the Wild Apricot Boot Camp, a collection of five video tutorials designed to guide both trial users and new administrators through all the key areas of the system's functionality. Click here to take a look.

Whether you're a brand new trial user seeking advice on how to proceed, or a paid user who needs a little technical support, my team and I are always more than happy to help you out - it's why we chose to work in this field in the first place! Please feel free to get in touch with us: https://www.wildapricot.com/contact-us

However, we’ve seen firsthand how managers can transform from frazzled and frustrated to confident and efficient by developing their team management skills — and how you can too.
