February Update

In February, we released versions 6.17 and 6.18 — these releases include some highly requested features from the Wishlist that will help make life easier for you and your members. These include:

Delivery options and shipping charges for online stores

On the new Delivery options screen, you can set up multiple shipping options and pickup options for your online store. For each shipping option, you can specify a shipping charge.

As part of your tax settings, you can choose whether to apply your default tax rules to shipping charges. You cannot provide for different tax rates to be applied for store orders or shipping charges based on the customer's location.

Allowing applicants, registrants, and members to upload files

You can now allow or require membership applicants and event registrants to upload files, or you can upload files yourself to their accounts. To do this, add a File attachment field to forms — click here to find out more.

You could use this to allow members to submit presentations or proof of professional certification, for admins to upload continuing education certificates to member profiles, and many more options.

For more information, see Allowing applicants, registrants, and members to upload files.

How to Automatically Connect With Other Apps - Integromat

Integromat newsletter image - small

You may have heard that you can now use Wild Apricot with Integromat, a tool that connects the different software you use and automates manual processes, without writing any code. With Integromat you can create sequences of steps, ranging from simple tasks within Wild Apricot to complex scenarios using dozens of other apps.

Step 1: Introducing Integromat

This post will introduce you to Integromat and cover many questions you might have, including:

  • What can I do with Integromat?

  • What’s the benefit?

  • How do I connect it to my Wild Apricot account?

What’s New in Wild Apricot

In addition to the attachments and delivery features, versions 6.17 and 6.18 also include:

Option to not automatically send password email to new contacts

You now have the option to not automatically send the password email when a non-member contact is added to your database by the system.

Non-member contacts are added by the system when they sign up for an event, order from your store, or make a donation, or complete any other form.

With this option unchecked, contacts will only receive the password email if you send it manually.

This option appears on the Password email screen. To display the Password email screen, hover the Settings menu and click the Contacts option. Under the Contacts settings list, click Password email.

Simpler way of enabling event registration

Enabling registration for an event is now a simple and highly visible Allow registration toggle, which you can click in view or edit mode to quickly enable or disable registration.

As before, there are circumstances under which public registration won't be available even if you have enabled registration for an event, including:

  • You have set the event visibility to Admin only.
  • The event's registration limit has been reached.
  • The event occurs in the past.
  • The current date is not within the event's specified registration period (simple events), or within the specified registration period for any registration types (advanced events).

February Support FAQs

Why are browsers flagging my site as insecure?

If you’re using a custom domain name like whatever.com, you need to have a custom security certificate installed on your Wild Apricot site. Custom domains without custom security certificates are considered insecure. Luckily, you can get a free security certificate installed for your custom domain by Wild Apricot. For instructions on requesting a free security certificate, click here.

I’m a limited administrator and I can’t delete certain files. Why?

Limited administrators can only delete files or folders that they have added themselves. Full administrators can delete any files or folders.

Why can a suspended member still log in and update his information?

When you suspend a member, he becomes a non-member contact, but with a membership history. However, like any non-member contact, he can still log into his private profile and update his contact information – basically anything stored in a common field. The suspended ex-member cannot, however, update any of his membership details or restore his membership.
