Wild Apricot Acquired: Introducing Personify

Wild Apricot Personify

Hello everyone,

I would like to take a few moments to more formally introduce Personify to you.

It’s been three weeks since Wild Apricot was acquired by Personify and I am still very excited about what this means for us.

Personify is based out of Austin, Texas where they released their constituent management solution, Personify360, back in 2006. Since then, they’ve become the leading player in the industry with a portfolio of large clients like the American Cancer Society and the American College of Physicians (ACP).

Eric Thurston has been the CEO of Personify since 2013. As I got to know him better, I began to appreciate his leadership style, because it meshes well with my own. Not only is Eric a strong and experienced leader in the association and nonprofit technology space, he is also a warm and sincere individual (with a great sense of humor!).

In the last month, Eric and his team visited our office multiple times to get to know our staff on a more personal level.

Since Eric is a also a pilot and loves to fly in his spare time, we even gave him his own Wild Apricot avatar wearing an aviator suite.

I am confident Eric and the Personify Team will help Wild Apricot grow and achieve many great things in the coming years.

If you’d like to learn more about Eric and his thoughts on the acquisition, I’d encourage you to listen to an interview he did with DelCor on the topic. It’s about 30 minutes long and has some really great insight (click here).

With all this said and done, what does all this mean for you, our customers? Since the acquisition announcement I’ve received many congratulations, but also many concerns about what this will bring — things like:

  • Will pricing change?
  • Will you stop developing feature requests?
  • What will happen to the Wild Apricot staff?

All these concerns and more can be addressed very simply — the acquisition will not impact any of our current plans:

  • Your account, website and members will stay on the Wild Apricot platform.
  • Personify will continue to invest in the development and improvement of the Wild Apricot product.
  • The Wild Apricot Team is staying in place. We will continue to provide the things you love about Wild Apricot, including our outstanding customer support and educational content.

It’s my hope that you will share in our excitement for what lies ahead for the Wild Apricot product, our customers and our employees as we start this new chapter with Personify!
