How to Find Your Volunteer Unicorns

Terry Ibele 02 February 2016 0 comments

Volunteer UnicornIt’s a new year, you have ambitious goals for your organization, but you need volunteers to fill the gaps.

The problem is that you’ve had trouble attracting and retaining volunteers in the long run. You’re excited when you meet a new volunteer, but discouragement settles in after you realize they may not stick around in the long run.

What you need is a volunteer unicorn — a magical creature that’s loyal, hard working, and willing to help. Volunteer unicorns not only stick around in the long run, they truly believe in the purpose of your organization, which means that they’ll make as big of an impact as they can.

So where are these volunteer unicorns hiding out?

You just need to develop a strategy to hook them in. That might mean some tough work from your part, but once you’ve found your passionate, dedicated, and motivated volunteer unicorns, you’ll see how much your hard work has paid off.

Barry Altland, speaker, volunteer recruitment expert, and author of “Engaging the Head, Heart and Hands of a Volunteer,” has dedicated his work to understanding what makes volunteers tick and how to build strategies that will attract those ever-elusive volunteer unicorns.

Being on both sides of volunteering and recruiting, Barry’s made it his mission to share his expertise with nonprofit organizations, to help them achieve their missions.

Next Thursday, he is hosting a free webinar where he’ll share his most powerful techniques on how to attract and retain volunteers in the long run. He’ll teach you:

  • The difference between traditional “recruitment” strategies and volunteer “attraction”
  • How to make volunteering irresistible to new and existing members
  • How to create the perfect mix of Appreciation, Recognition, Incentive and Reward, to push volunteers to the “next level”
  • How to adopt new and powerful organizational strategies that cultivate future leaders and long-term success
Sign up now to learn how to build your amazing volunteer recruitment strategy, and be on your way to finding your volunteer unicorns!
