Need Some Help Getting Started?

If you are new to Wild Apricot or you’ve got new volunteers or staff coming on board, you might want to check out the new resources we’ve created for users who are just getting started with Wild Apricot Membership Management software.

Our new Start-Up Guides offer an overview of the features, tools and working pieces of Wild Apricot. After all, as the Getting Started With Wild Apricot guide suggests, “Wild Apricot isn't just one program (e.g. a membership database) but many 'modules' that work together. Instead of 5 separate software programs - for managing events, membership lists, mailing lists and editing your website - you can do all those things in Wild Apricot. Furthermore, your Wild Apricot account and data can be accessed simultaneously by multiple people - from any computer with an Internet connection and a web browser.”

Here are the Start-Up Guides that are currently available:

Getting Started with Wild Apricot

This Guide offers an overview of the software with a brief outline of all of the main modules, what they can do and how all of the pieces work together, including:

    Dashboard - which provides an overview of your key data from different modules
  • Contacts - Contact database
  • Web pages - Website hosting and management tool (aka CMS - Content Management System)
  • Events - Event management and online event registration 
  • Members - Membership management
  • Donations - Donor database and online fundraising 
  • Finances - Accounts receivable and financial reporting
  • Settings - a list of all of the configuration options for each module (e.g., payment settings, default e-mails, etc.)
Getting Started with Websites

This is a helpful resource for those of you just getting started with website building in Wild Apricot. It offers an overview of Wild Apricot’s website module, including: a website Customization Breakdown;a Checklist for setting up a website; how to add, edit and manage web pages; how to set up interactive database-driven web pages linked to other Wild Apricot modules; and a Website Migration Checklist for moving your old website to a Wild Apricot website.

    Getting Started with Events

    For those of you using Wild Apricot's Events module, this Guide can certainly get you started with its workflow overview; as well as tips on:

    • setting up a new event;
    • promoting an event;
    • online registration;
    • managing new contact information;
    • and advanced event options.
    Getting Started with Membership Management

    If you are managing your membership database, this helpful Start-up Guide provides an overview of how to manage members and other contacts like newsletter subscribers, donors, event attendees, volunteers, and so on. It offers a description of the database structure (membership levels, database fields) and demonstrates the major member functions related to applications and renewals, updating records, searching, emailing and reports.


    Note these guides are meant to offer a general overview and introduce the concepts behind Wild Apricot. We offer many resources for users, including articles and video tutorials. But for detailed information on specific features or for help with particular issue or questions, please see help.wildapricot.com.
