Turning Five

Lori Halley 18 July 2011 0 comments

Wild Apricot Software turns five this month!  Do you remember being five? It’s a turning point where we leave our toddlerhood behind and start school, learn to read, write and become more independent.

Parenting experts also suggest that five-year olds live in the here and now, and don’t comprehend the idea of long-term consequences. So I guess we’re mature beyond our years, because as our Chief Apricot outlined in his most recent Software News post, we’ve been listening to our clients (through our WishList Forum and user surveys) and have big plans for product enhancements in the pipeline based on our users’ needs.

What’s Ahead? - Development Milestones For 5-year old Wild Apricot:

Wild Apricot has come a long way since we started five years ago. We've been maturing, expanding and enhancing our Membership Management Software. But as we grow, we will continue to focus on online solutions for small associations, non-profits, clubs and other member-driven organizations.

We plan to launch our Version 5.0 during our 5th year.  This will introduce changes in the Website CMS to give organizations more control than ever over their website's look and feel.  We'll also plan to re-design many parts of our event registration function, adding RSVPs, multiple registration options, more control over registration limits and simplified event management interface.

Check out our celebrations:

On Thursday, we celebrated our 5th anniversary in Toronto with some of our clients, partners, staff and friends. It was a great opportunity for our Apricots to meet and mingle face-to-face with customers that we usually only connect with via email or by phone.

We handed out Wild Apricot stress balls – since that’s what we try to do with our software – make life easier and less stressful for our small association and non-profit clients.

To add to the fun we also brought in a caricaturist.

Our Moscow office had their own birthday party – here’s a photo of the Wild Apricot team in Moscow.

Thanks to all our customers, partners, supporters and fans for an amazing 5 years -- here's looking forward to many more ahead!
