Here’s a short and sweet update on some of the exciting things we have brewing here at WildApricot.

Upcoming Webinars

As mentioned in our October update, due to your requests, we’re continuing our free expert webinar series. This month we were joined by Dr. Richard Lent who shared his expertise on Leading Great Board Meetings

And going forward into December, we're ramping up the webinars we offer with two in one month instead of just one! You can read more details about these webinars and sign up by clicking on the links below:

WildApricot’s First Comprehensive Course: Board Meeting Hero

We at WildApricot want to be more than just your software solution. We’ve been collecting your feedback and sifting through hundreds of your comments to discover how we can serve you better. From this, one thing has became very clear - you’re eager to learn more about how to change your organization to be more productive.

One topic that arose time and time again was how to run an effective board meeting. Take a look at some of these comments and see if they relate to you:

"Wading through the minutia and politics of making an informed decision." - Garry C.
"Once a decision has been made, the enthusiasm for the project is tabled until the next meeting." - Janet S.
"Getting others to think analytically and prepare adequately to present at meetings." - Patricia F.

And so, we’ve created a comprehensive course about how to run the ultimate board meeting. We’ve even implemented the course within our own office and have found that it truly transforms our meeting productivity - we’ve been able to work on more projects and meet more of our organization's objectives with the strategies outlined in this course.

This course goes beyond our knowledge articles, our mini-courses, our blog, our case studies, and even our expert webinars. It's the entire package! Check it out below:

Board Meeting Hero: Rescue your board, boost productivity, and grow your membership.

Board Meeting Hero comes complete with:

  • 15 instructional videos
  • 12 worksheets
  • 3 quizzes
  • and much more

You can read more information about the course, and even sign up for it here.

Coming Soon… Version 5.7!

We’re nearly ready to release our latest version, 5.7, which includes many new features that you’ve requested in our UserVoice forums and updates to existing features to make them better.

Perhaps one of our most awaited updates with 5.7 is the redesign of our Newsletter Email Templates. Expect much simpler, and easier to customize templates for creating your organization's emails and newsletters.

Besides the Newsletter Templates, we've also got a lot more in store for Version 5.7, including:

  • Event Waitlist  - allows prospective registrants to be added to a waitlist once event registration fills up
  • Facebook Comments Gadget - an easy addition to any page on your site where users can add their comments by logging into their Facebook account
  • New Theme: Showcase - ideal for artists, this beautiful theme was designed for those wishing to showcase a portfolio of products or services
  • Streamlined payment workflow for online payments including a reduced amount of emails a contact is sent
  • The ability to allow administrators to choose what type of payments are accepted for event and memberships dues: offline, online, or both
  • and much more!

That’s all for this month’s update!

Best of Success!

"...and much more!" Any chance this includes the ability to add photos to blog and forum posts? Please!

    Terry Ibele:

Thanks for writing. Unfortunately this functionality will not come with Version 5.7.

We are aware of this request and it is on our roadmap for 2016, so hopefully we'll be able to make it ready in another upcoming release - you can find more details and a preview of what we're working here:
  • Alec Ko:
Any change for a read only Admin able to search for groups and send out email blast?

    Like a communication admin.
  • Terry Ibele

    Terry Ibele:
    Hi Alec,

Thanks for writing! Unfortunately this isn't something that we'e built in yet, but it is something that other clients of ours are requesting also.

You can add your support to this functionality by visiting our UserVoice forum and voting on this issue

    Hope this helps!
  • David Edstrom:
    Need SMS or texting capability
  • Terry Ibele

    Terry Ibele:
    Hi David,

Thanks for writing. We don't have the option of SMS notifications yet, but it is an issue on our UserVoice Forum Wishlist, you can add your support for it here:
  • Pam Sorooshian:
Event registration has changed. Where they used to click on "confirm" there is no longer a confirm button. How do they go back to register another person and then pay for multiple registrants at one time?
  • Terry Ibele

    Terry Ibele:
    Hi Pam,

    Thanks for writing.

If you have enabled guests for your event registration type, the registrant can add guests at the bottom of the registration form. We did remove the confirm button as it was an additional step, however it does not affect guest registrations.

    I hope this helps.
  • Sharon Frey:
I would still like to see the capability of reader email subscription for the blog. I have already added this on the wish list twice. You have it for the forum, why not for the blog??
  • Terry Ibele

    Terry Ibele:
    Hi Shannon,

I can see where you requested this on our Wishlist Forum, and yes, we are still working on this, but we decided to prioritize other features for this update, such as our long awaited newsletter template redesign.

However, users can still subscribe to your blog via RSS feed. You can learn how to show the icon here:

We're always looking for feedback, so thanks for getting in touch. Take care!
