Product Update

Free products for members

WildApricot's online store will support free products in the next release, which is scheduled to begin rolling out on March 3, 2021. This feature allows you to give your paid members more benefits than non-members by offering products for free for members only. You can also offer free products as a way of checking out and tracking resources like books or gym equipment.

You can offer free digital products like free webinars or free physical products like printed membership cards or t-shirts for members, where members would only have to pay for shipping. To help you find inspiration for your inventory, have a look at this featured blog: 5 digital products to help grow your organization's revenue.

Update from the Support Team

This month, we are sharing answers to frequently asked support questions.

Why did a lapsed member get charged twice when he renewed?

If you don't want a lapsed member to accidentally pay two renewal invoices when they next renew, then you need to check the Void renewal notice checkbox in the Renewal reminders and actions section of the Renewal policy tab for that level.

With this option enabled, the membership renewal invoice will be automatically voided for members with a status of Pending - Renewal if not fully paid within the specified number of days following the renewal date.

Without this option enabled, old renewal invoices will still appear along with newer ones on members' Invoices and payments tab.

Why are my event emails not being routed according to my routing settings?

Using email routing settings, you can choose to send copies of event emails to other recipients. However, if you want to route event emails, you also have to check the Copy emails according to email routing settings check box on the Emails tab for each event.

If this option is not enabled, then your routing settings will be ignored for emails concerning this event.

Why do non-registrants receive an email when I click the Email registrants button?

Clicking the Email registrants button from the Registrants & invitees tab will send the message to everyone currently displayed on the list of registrants and invitees.

So, before you click that button, make sure the list is properly filtered the way you want. On all other event tabs, clicking the Email registrants button will send an email to event registrants only.

Meet the Team

Nicki Kowsari, Senior Onboarding Specialist

Hi, I’m Nicki and I’m one of the Onboarding Coaches here at WildApricot. My role is to ensure that our users are set up for success. This means helping them evaluate if this is the right platform, assisting them in quick and pain-free migration of their existing database, and cheering for them when they finally launch their brand new, shiny membership websites!

Learning is my passion and I like to end each day feeling like I’ve accomplished something new. That’s why working at WildApricot with its growth driven culture has been so rewarding.

On my downtime I like reading, playing the piano, and rock climbing. I also love to travel any chance I get. Some of my fondest memories are from a three-week course I took in Florence to study art during the Italian Renaissance.

Organization Spotlight

This month, our featured organization is:

Human Services Network of Colorado

Human Services Network of Colorado is a nonprofit organization dedicated to those who work in human services across Colorado. Its mission is to create opportunities that help members provide better service to Colorado’s vulnerable populations through educational workshops and training, career fairs, networking events, and forums. As well, the organization builds awareness and respect for the human services field and those who dedicate their lives to assisting others.

What makes its website awesome

The moment you land on their homepage, you’ll see lines of text appearing, conveying the organization's compelling mission statement. Its minimalism allows visitors to focus on the main message. The pages throughout the website are also very simplistic, with a clean and organized navigation menu.
