December 2015 Update: A Year in Review

If you’re like us, you’re using this time between the holidays to reflect on everything you’ve done this last year. At WildApricot, there’s so much that’s happened, it’s hard to pick what to talk about! 

Here are our Top 5 Highlights of 2015:

1) Five Major Releases To Make Your Life Easier

This year we’re proud to say that we’ve worked extra hard to make WildApricot a better software with 5 major releases, from Version 5.3 to 5.7. Comparatively, we only released 3 major versions last year.

Here’s a recap of some of the biggest features that came with this year’s releases:

  • The WildApricot App for Android and iOS made it easier to make updates and check in guests at your events right from your phone
  • We updated the look and functionality of our Newsletter Templates
  • We added Multi-session Events to allow you to set up events that have sessions occurring on different days
  • Now you can add Waitlists to your events when they fill up with registrants
  • We launched 5 New Themes to keep your websites modern, chic, and fully responsive on mobile applications
  • After many requests, we added a Wordpress Plugin to easily integrate WildApricot with Wordpress
  • Plus we added tonnes of extra requested features like Stripe payment, extra charge calculation fields, photo album sorting, and more!
Going forward into 2016, expect more updates, bug fixes, and features as we work hard to continue making WildApricot the best Membership Management Software on the market.

2) We Added More Ways To Collect Your Feedback

Not only listening, but understanding your needs is a top priority for us as collecting and acting on your feedback has played a very large role in where we are today.

Some of the ways we collect your feedback is through surveys, phone calls, emails, and through our support team. One big change to how we started collecting your feedback this year was from the migration of our forums and Wishlist over to UserVoice, plus we’ve added in-product surveys.
We made these changes, because they allow us to have more direct, and faster communication with you. Already we’ve had hundreds and hundreds of new features requested and voted upon withing these feedback tools, which has helped us greatly in determining our product roadmap.

Going forward into 2016, please keep sending us your feedback! It’s your chance to make a direct impact on the services that WildApricot offers.

3) Rated #1 Most Popular Membership Management Software… Again!

WA Capterra number1Capterra, a service that ranks software, has rated us the #1 Most Popular Membership Management Software for the third year in a row!

This is a great accomplishment for us — we certainly didn’t stumbled into the top position by accident. Those of you who have been with us from the beginning know that we’ve always worked our darndest to offer you the most value. 

Going forward into 2016, I’m confident we can keep our top position and make it 4 years in a row!

4) Our Price Increase

For the first time in our 9 year history, we increased our prices.

This was a very tough decision to make, but it was necessary in order to keep delivering on our promises of making WildApricot the best Membership Management Software on the market.

In raising our prices, we’ve also committed to delivering you more value, by:

  • Increasing your storage by 2GB on top of the allocated storage for your account
  • Allocating a lot more resources to software development. We've already released two more major versions (including bug fixes, updates, and new features) than we did last year
  • Hiring more staff in support, product development, and content creation to increase our services and resources
  • Plus we’ve increased the amount of education we’re offering you to help you grow your membership — from our free expert webinars, to mini-courses and the like

Going forward into 2016, we’ll continue to keep our promises by making WildApricot even better and offering higher value to you.

5) We Launched Our Membership Academy

We put out a tonne of educational resources for you this past year. I took some time to count everything and here’s what we came out with:

  • 13 Expert Webinars
  • 2 Mini Courses
  • 1 Full Course
  • 1 Case Study
  • 6 Advisory Group Sessions
  • 5 Members-in-Focus Interviews
  • 8 Podcasts
  • 111 Blog Posts (not including this one!)

We also quickly learned that our Expert Webinar series was highest in demand. Thousands of you attended our monthly series to hear excellent insights on how to grow your organization from many different Nonprofit Experts. Check out our 3 most popular webinars from 2015:

caeOn a related note, we also partnered with the American Society of Association Executives to make our expert webinars eligible for CAE credits, so now when you attend a webinar, you’re working towards maintaining your CAE designation.
