Right now, there is no way to detect if another user is logged in. We are aware of the need and we have some ideas and plans to address this. If you click on any page, there  is a note on the toolbar: 'Last edited by <user> on <date>''

It sounds like you mean links. Click on link button in the toolbar - it covers all three situations (links to other pages, links to other sites, links to emails)
