It is a limitatin we will address soon (~2-3 months tops). For now one workaround is to do this: if member email is john.smith@hotmail.com, use john.smith+1@hotmail.com or something like that.  Not too pretty but workable.

This is a current limitation - the same email can not be used for admin and for member - since they have different access rights/use different functions. System now recognizes user by email and since administrators and member have access to different features, hence the current limitation. We do plan to address it in the near future 

Since we do not provide email hosting, what we recommend to our clients using their own domains is to redirect only website DNS records to us and keep email DNS pointed to whatever they were.
