This article offers an overview of what is essential in developing an effective leadership program.

Does training improve leadership effectiveness?  Research suggests that training – of any governance model – has a positive influence on leadership performance. Believing that leaders are not born but are trained, Patricia and James Hudson of the Melos Institute, note that their goal in this article is to begin a dialog on how establishing a serious leadership development initiative not only complements the planning process but also enables the organization to operate at a much more strategic level.
