Unique setup with paypal -- need some direction

I am trying to setup WA for a non-profit organization, but I their payment system is a little different than the regular method in WA.

This organization offers free classes to low-income families, which are held on certain dates/times/locations. I am planning to use the event manager to post those classes and process their registration.

This organization also offers custom classes for professional groups. They get to schedule their own choice of date/time/location and the class comes to their office or group. This service costs money, which is used to help fund the free classes.

I want to these people to be able to register for a custom class through an online form (built in Wufoo) and pay through Paypal. But I can't figure out how to integrate the 'pay now' button to get the user over to the Paypal shopping cart.

I don't think WA's standard Paypal integration will work here because it only seems to be available through the standard event list (which I'm using for free class registrations, plus these paid classes do not yet have a date/time set when the user requests it and pays) or the donate form (which doesn't seem to allow any extra customization).

Can someone point me in the right direction of how I might be able to accomplish getting the paying user to Paypal? I am completely stuck.

    Hi there,

Can't think of a good way to set this up right off the bat, but we will brainstorm a bit more internally and post here if we have any ideas. :-(

Basically you have two categories of events and you want first category to be free; second one is paid but does not have a specific date/time so you really use the system just to capture payment and registration info. Is this a correct description?

That's right -- then the payment information is stored in Paypal, and the custom class registration is in Wufoo. I will probably also build a manual process for the employee to export that registration data to CSV and import it into WA so those users will be included in the contact manager for marketing purposes. Isn't that what you would recommend?

This workaround sounds fine - obviosuly it is quite a bit of manual work for you guys so it is not ideal - but we can not think of a better way to set it up.

Yeah, I know. It will probably need to be done quarterly. Back to my originally question though, did you figure out any good way to integrate a Paypal shopping cart code within WA? I probably shouldn't have muddled the original thread question with that other one about the backend management... :)

We do plan to provide a PayPal shopping cart integration - not a big deal, just something we have not got to yet. Our current roadmap is to focus on eCommerce features like this one in Q3 (tons of other cool and useful stuff already in the works)
