    emailing members

When I click "email members" is this emailing ALL members in ALL statues? I want some emails only to go to paid active members, then there are emails I want to go to ALL contacts in my database including archived.

    How do I do this?

    Re: emailing members

[email members] will email all the members that are currently listed on the page (except for archived members if there are any). You can modify this list and send only a target email blast using keyword / advanced search.

(Archived members cannot receive e-mailings, see archived vs active members)

So whats the solution for wanting to email archived members?  I want the ability to email members that may have not been active for a few years.

    Re: emailing members

You would have to restore these members from archive in order to email them. Goto archived record and click [Restore from archive] button. You can use export / import to restore these records in bulk, but remember that these records will start to count towards your total database size once you restore them.

    Re: emailing members

When I restore them will they automatically fall back into archived status at somepoint?  When restored do I put them in "lasped" status?

I don't care about them counting towards my number of records.  Yes, I realize that drives my cost but I need the ability to remind some people of events for which in the future they may desire to rejoin etc.  To me, maintaining a database is the non-profits largest asset.

    Re: emailing members

Records are not automatically archived, only the admin can archive any record. Once restored it is up to you which state you want to put those records in, i.e. you choose what access level and member privileges you want to grant those records. See access control by member status.
