Registrant to view/change his event registrations [2591]

    Current behavior:
Once registered, a person can not change anything in his registration, this can only be done by the administrator

    Desired behavior:
At the very least, ability to view own registration(s) and reprint confirmations
ideally, ability to adjust the registration (for example, select different sessions or correct a spelling mistake in address or phone)
Possibly, ability to cancel a registration
    Open issues/questions are:
    1) Handling monetary aspects of edits/cancellations. Having system issue refunds automatically is not desirable, which means that a sophisticated interface is required to present all changes/cancellations to the administrator, have him issue refunds where appropriate and record/link to each change.
    2) Having administrators notified of changes is desirable
    3) Ability to administrators to lock all or certain registrations (e.g.  if reservations for facilities have been finalized and can not be changed)

Re: Registrant to view/change his event registrations

We want to use event registration on the "member only" access side of our site.  Members want to continue using yahoo for our event registrations because they cannot see who else is signed up with the current WA registration process.  We look forward to this upgrade in the future!

I really like the idea of this one.  Now that you have a consolidated database, it would be nice to allow non-member contacts to have the ability to "login" so they can see their event registration history, make adjustments or "REQUEST" a cancellation or refund.

I totally agree that we don't want users to be able to handle any return of money, but perhaps they can initiate an e-mail or some kind of notification within Wild Apricot to request a cancellation or refund.  I really like the idea that "contacts" can login and see their history, but yet not have the same access that members would have.  This would require some programing to control access and keep track of who they are, especially if you are dealing with a suspended member, but I like the idea of attendees being able to administer their registration after they register.

I totally agree and this is the direction we are working toward - to have all contacts able to log in etc.

Any updates on this?  One additional area that could be included with this tread is the ability to change their registration type after they register.  For instance, if they register for a Full Registration type and then after they submit that registration, they realize they want to switch to a one day registration, there is no way for the attendee nor the admin user to correct this.  The Admin user has to actually completely delete the registration and re-register them to correct this situation.  This is a crazy interface and needs to be corrected, but I can see how the pricing adjustments could be difficult to program.  However, there has to be a better way to manage this then deleted them and re-keying everything.

James, there has been no progress on this issue so far, we have to focus on other items with higher priority for now.

Member self-service to view and cancel Event Registrations

I can't seem to find help in this area, but has anyone found a way for a  member to go into his profile and look at all the events he has registered for and have the option of canceling them?

And in this regard, can the Admin set up a time limit for cancellations e.g. 48 hours prior to the event, so if the member tries to cancel inside that limit he or she receives a pop up denying the cancellation with the message indicating a time limit?

    Mike.

    Mike,

Member can not currently review his registrations or cancel them. I will move this to wishlist.

I would appreciate input form others. This is not a simple issue, we have to consider:

    - free and paid registrations

    - cut off dates

    - how refunds are issued

Re: Member self-service to view and cancel Event Registrations

Agreed.  How about starting with just FREE registrations? Those are uncomplicated.  My suggestion: right next to the Attendees list(visisble to members who are paid up) add a "Cancel" button.  Should only work if a member is logged in.  If someone tries to cancel someone else, message pop up would be something on the lines of: "You are not authorised to cancel another Member's registration".

     That should do it.

Event Attendees Should Have the Ability to Remove Themselves from the Event

We would like event attendees to have the ability to remove themselves from events.

    Thanks for your consideration.

Yes, please! This would be great. As it stands now, the event creator has to go in and manage it, and we need our participants to be able to join and drop at will. Thanks!

Re: Member self-service to view and cancel Event Registrations

Absolutely need this feature.  We have lots of free and pay-at-the-door events and we would use this feature all the time.

It makes sense to put this into the member profile and allow them to cancel any free event they have registered for.

In addition, I'd like to see an "evite" type of option to have members RSVP for events with Yes, Maybe or No. I also like the ability to send emails to members of a group based on their RSVP status - e.g. send to all "Yeses", all "Nos", All "Maybes", All those who haven't RSVP'd.

Re: Event Attendees Should Have the Ability to Remove Themselves from the Event

We have a thread for Registrants to be able to view/edit their own registrations - http://www.wildapricot.com/forums/thread/6828.aspx.

I'm going to merge this thread with that one.
