    member database fields

if I set up one field type as "Dropdown" and "Mandatory", and I check the application form as a visitor, I don't see the red * beside this field. Also this field is not really mandatory, since the first option in the dropdown will be perceived as the default selection even thought the applicant didn't select any choice. It looks like I can't use "Dropdown" field as a "Mandatory" field for the application form. Can you find out why? Can it be realized in the future release?

This is related to a small bug and we are working on it. At the moment we are evaluating this issue in order to get some tentative resolution time.

Just a follow up...any progress for this issue? Since I need to set up some data fields as dropdown due to too many options. Thanks!

    Re: member database fields

Hello, we've added this issue into our todo list but we do not expect it to be done until our next release (approximately early April) As a workaround we can suggest using Radio-buttons. Sorry for the inconvenience.

This will be fixed in this release, right?

Unfortunately no, this is scheduled for our next release 2.33 (early May 2008).

    Re: member database fields

Unfortunately, it is still on our to-do list. It has been pushed back a bit as we had quite a few other requests which seemed to be much more frequent.

As a temporary workaround you could use an empty selection as your first drop down option. So this way users would be forced to make a selection (if the field is mandatory), or it would stay as blank if the field is not mandatory.

    Re: member database fields

Sorry about the delay. We had to reallocate some work on the fly. This finally went into development so it should be released in our next update (~end of June).
