    Event Registration

Here's a few suggestions to add to your already great event registration:

    1. Capability to create event template(s) or copy a previous event to a new date to edit.
    2. Capability to disable event registration for some member types, not just public.
    3. Somehow ensure a member logs in to register for an open-to-the-public event (ie, if someone registers using the same email address as a member, enable them to respond to an "Are you a member" question so the registration a applied to the member and not a separate person.

    Re: Event Registration

    1. For sure, this is on our list for near future

    2. Do you mean for a specific event? (you can already remove any given member level from event registrations across all events - done in member leve settings)

    3. You are right, we are already thinking about exactly this.

Your input is highly appreciated, keep it coming.

    Re: Event Registration

    Hi again,

I'm not sure what you mean in 2. about disabling a member level from events.  I created a member level called "Non-Member" to enable some folks to sign up for the mailing list, but not actually be dues-paying members.  I didn't see any choice to disable the ability to sign up for events.  The only option was to not show the level in Public event registration, which is not really what I want.

The specifics are we hold some events which are member-only and these "non-members" should not be able to register.  It would be best if they could be treated the same as public when it comes to events, even if they are signed in.  Is this possible?

    Thanks,

     Liz

    Re: Event Registration

No, unfortunately what you describe is not currently possible - if they are members of any level, they would be able to register. You can only prohibit public visitors from registering.

    Re: Event Registration

    Hi,

I just want to second Liz's requests for:

Capability to create event template(s) or copy a previous event to a new date to edit.

    and

Somehow ensure a member logs in to register for an open-to-the-public event (ie, if someone registers using the same email address as a member, enable them to respond to an "Are you a member" question so the registration a applied to the member and not a separate person.

The "are you a member" is a higher priority for us, but both of these would be tremendously helpful.

    Re: Event Registration

We do have the ability to copy a prior event now. Every time you add an event you can chose to create from scratch - or copy an existing one. Is this what you need?

'Are you a member' is a high priority for us, we are actually redesigning the event registration process right now to address this (plus some other stuff like completing registrations which failed on the first try).

    Re: Event Registration

It would be useful to be able to switch off the on-line payment option for some forms of registration on some events.

For example we propose to use event registration for our weekly meetings at which the subs are £4 ($8 ish). The PayPal fee on this would eat into such a small subscription.

    Thanks

    Re: Event Registration

    Thanks for your feedback.

We are planning to allow setup of payment options per event, current target is Q2 2008.

    Re: Event Registration

I would like to add to Event Registration wishlist:

When logged in as administrator and viewing the record of a member, after clicking "Register for Event" I would like for certain registration fields to be auto-filled with data from the members existing record, such as "Title", or "Mailing Address".

Maybe this is possible now, but not apparent to me.

    Re: Event Registration

You are right, at the moment we only copy name and email.

The ability to copy other fields is on our list, I will make a note of your feedback, thanks.

    Re: Event Registration

Its its possible for event registration to be completed by email buttons or automatic links for registered members.?  People could have the option to register, de-register, or find our more information about the event which can link them to the website for more details.

    Re: Event Registration

We do not currently have this (though it is being considered).

I will archive this thread as most of the items have either already been addressed - or now exist as separate threads on the Roadmap or Wishlist forums
