    Converting Attendees to Members

    This has probably been discussed ad-nauseam, but I don't know how to search for it. What is the easiest way to add all attendees from every event as a member?

    We plan to implement a single contact database in the next few months which should render converting attendees into members unnecessary. For now the easiest way would be to export the attendees of each event and then import that list. However this only works best if the event attendee emails are all distinct and different from those already in your member database. (Note that events allow you to use the same email more than once but member registration does not).

    Will this be before, after, or concurrent with multiple registrants per email address?

    Hard to say yet - we are still working on detailed design and have not started planning development yet. Sequence of implementation will firm up in several weeks.

    Well, we're looking forward to multiple registrations per member with bated breath. I can't tell you how many companies have asked for this, but it's a lot!

    Can you elaborate "multiple registrations per member" - what exactly are we talking about?

    The ability for one member who represents an orgainization, family, company, or whatever, to register as many people as they wish without having to use unique email addresses.

    Our organization puts on monthly events in which several employees from a given company will attend. Those companies would like one person to register their participants at once, and have repeatedly requested this. I tell them it's in the pipeline but I don't know when.

    OK, I understand - registering multiple people at once.

    This is  being analyzed but all the solutions we found so far require a big change of the registration system so it will be some time before we get to it.
