    Job Ads /Classifieds module

    Current behavior:
    N/A

    Desired behavior:
    Self-service job ads module:
    - administrator can add this module (like other functional pages)
    - users can subscribe to job ads notifications
    - administrator can customize fields for job ads and define pricing and duration schedule
    - users can submit new job ads and pay online
    - Once submitted and paid, job ad will be displayed online and email notification will go out to subscribed users
    - Ideally, submitter should be able to edit or deactivate his job ad
    - After the defined duration, job ad will be removed from public access into archive and notice sent to submitter and administrator

    Notes:
This can be implemented as broader applicable 'classifieds' module. All that is missing is 'category' for each classified ad and interface to browse ads by category.

We would like to have this new functional page for classifieds.

Yes, this sort of behavior would be essential to us. We already have a website that we maintain just to provide this functionality separate from WA.

    Re: Job Ads /Classifieds module

In the "broader sense" of a classifieds board, we do a "market place", where sponsors can place a .jpg image like they would an ad in a magazine.  Image size depends on amount of sponsorship.

Yes, this is the kind of function that we need.  Do you have an approximate time frame when you plan to move forward with this implementation?

Not yet, it depends on client votes here - and our progress on other items already in the works.

    Re: Job Ads /Classifieds module

The job posting module/functionality would be a huge benefit to our organization. I would suggest the following fields:

    • Position title
    • Company name
    • Main location of job (city, state)
    • Date/time posted
    • Deadline for submission of applications [plus back-end ability to unpublish position on certain date/time]
    • Position description
    • Position requirements (degree, experience, etc.)
    • Pay range [would not appear on front end if no information is entered]
    • How to apply
    • Contact person, if any

I like the idea of having the option of charging a fee for posting a position opening, but this would be a back-end administrative designation. Also the administrative option of whether only association members can post or whether posting would be open to non-members (and fee association based on membership status).

    Thanks,

    Re: Job Ads /Classifieds module

I think this is a very good feature to add.  Our organization is very small and looking for alternate revenue streams without alot of volunteer interaction.  Similar to a marketplace?

This could allow members and external parties the ability to self-manage and pay to add job postings for coaches (the category idea would be fabulous) -- in addition to members & guests being able to subscribe.

I LOVE it and hope it comes soon.

If not ... I would appreciate a validated and Wild Apricot recommended 3rd party plug in for us to use.

    Re: Job Ads /Classifieds module

Realistically, it will be a while before we can tackle this one - many other improvements in the pipeline.

We do not have any current recommendations on third-party plugins for that, sorry.

    Anyone else has any recommendations?
