WA not assigning correct PageID when publishing internal anchors and links on a new page

    Hi there,

(I can't even show you my code correctly here because your system keeps appending extra stuff to my links - even when I took out the angle brackets! So frustrating)

I am creating a FAQ page with internal page links. I created one already that works fine. I edit the HTML and create anchors using  <a name="linkname">text</a>and then on the link I use <a href="http://www.wildapricot.com/forums/EditPost.aspx?PostID=7022&ReturnUrl=%2fforums%2fShowThread.aspx%3fPostID%3d7022%237022#linkname" mce_href="http://www.wildapricot.com/forums/EditPost.aspx?PostID=7022&ReturnUrl=%2fforums%2fShowThread.aspx%3fPostID%3d7022%237022#linkname">text</a>

When I did this previously, WA appended full url including PageID ahead of my anchor and link href and name values when I published the HTML and page.

Today, I am trying to create another FAQ page using the same technique and when I click "Publish" after saving my HTML, WA is appending the Default Admin page as the url, instead of the url with the correct PageID.

     What is wrong?

I had to go in manually and fix the links myself. But I'm curious why I didn't have to do this before, as WA automatically assigned the right page links.

Could you indicate your FAQ page URL and the pages that you tried to link.

    http://www.canadianparalegalinstitute.onefireplace.com/Default.aspx?pageId=142642

The pages are linked now, but initially I was just inserting an anchor link (with no URL in front of it) and then a separate link with #linkname as the address (e.g  name="Top" and then #Top for a back to top link).

The first time I made a page this way I was using Firefox on a Mac. This time, I was using IE7 for Vista -- unfortunately that is what I mostly use because that's what I have!

The first time, when I clicked "Publish", if I checked the HTML later, WA had appended in the URL with the ID of the page. The second time I tried it (on IE), all the anchors and all the links I made had all been replaced with the Admin/Default URL instead of a specific page.

     Hope that helps,

    Melanie

    Hi Melanie,

we have confirmed this is a bug in IE and we will work on fixing this.

For now the workaround is either to use FF or insert full absolute URLs.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks, at least it is explainable... I will try to use FF when creating those types of links.
