    Pending event registrations

    I tried to register for my own event last evening. My Paypal transaction did not complete and now the system states that my registration is pending. Furthermore, registrations closed yesterday. I would not be able to register anyway because the system thinks I have already registered.

    The on-line pending failed payments procedure needs to be fixed. I make the following recommendations. If a payment is on-line and still pending 4 hours after the transaction was started, send a follow-up email to the registrant notifying them that the transaction failed with a link to retry the transaction.

    If after 48 hours the transaction has not been completed, unregister the registrant for the event and send a notifying e-mail so the registrant can try again from scratch.

    Chuck,

    I agree that our current flow for pending registrations is not ideal and we do have plans to improve it. We will definitely take your idea into account (And I think it is a good suggestion, though it will probably not work for everyone so we have expand on it).
