    Building Website Questions

    1. I would like to have at least 2 columns in the Primary Content area of the HOME Page......I chose the transparent them, because I am making CSS changes to the website.....However, I am unable to figure out how to have 2 columns (one of the choices on adding a web page) on the HOME page......Tell me how?

    2. I would like to place a Join Now/Sign Up Now link Button directly under the ID Password fields in the header section of the home page.....How do I do that?

    3. I would like to have my terms and conditions read and checked prior to submitting their completed sign up.....I notice your terms of use is there.....How do I address this?

I really like the site and am looking forward to "going live" with it in a few weeks......

My email address for response is ckchapman@cfl.rr.com.

    Thank you,

    Re: Building Website Questions

    1. Create a new content page (http://help.wildapricot.com/display/DOC/Content+pages+vs.+functional+pages)
by selecting 2 column template. Go to Edit / click on HTML button and copy the code.
Go to Home page, click on Edit, click on HTML button, scroll your existing code all the way down and paste the code from previous page, click Save button.
At the bottom of the page you will see a new empty 2 column layout. Copy-paste existing content in to the columns as desired.

    2. I need more details on this one. In what order do you need these elements to appear? from top to bottom.

    3. At the moment you can add a Mandatory field that will force them to check it (http://alliance.camp7.org) and terms and conditions could be inserted into Description field of the application.
In our new release 2.33 on May 19 we are planning to introduce a new feature that will allow to insert your own terms of use page.

    Thanks for the answers Denys:

I would like to place a Join Now Button or Bar directly below the LogIn button on the Home Page header and I want that Join Now Button/Bar to take them to the Member Application clicked on...

Another question:  I have created a calculator in Excel, I would like to have this calculator on one of my members only pages (in the primary content area)....What is the best way to do this?

    Thanks,

    Re: Building Website Questions

Link: Theoretically, it can be done via CSS Customization function, though that area is dynamically changed for logged in members, it is very tricky. Consider placing somewhere else nearby in the header - that is much easier.

Calculator: You need to convert this into Javascript code. Consider using something like Google Spreadsheets, it works well for that.

    Re: Building Website Questions

This might just be a work-around for you, but thought I'd suggest it as I am probably going to do something similar with a splash page!

If you are hosting your web domain elsewhere, and it has some webspace available on it with FTP access (or if you can access your WA webspace with WebDav), you could use that webspace to create some external pages which will do the job you are talking about. E.g. create a splash page that users see first when they go to your site (before getting to the WA site).

On that splash page, you could place three things:

-an "Enter site" link for public (non-members who want to view your site) with link to WA site (to view public pages only)

-your WA login widget (for members)

-under/near that, a link that says "Not a Member? Join Now". Rather than linking directly to your WA registration form, you would instead link to another page that is probably a form (also stored on your external site or a third-party form site) with your disclaimer text on it. There should be an "I Accept" button or "Return to Main Page" button. If a user clicks "I Accept" you could then link to a page with your member registration widget from WA (or put a direct link to WA registration page if you know the address). If the user does not agree, boot them back out to your splash page so they are aware that they are going back to enter as a non-member.
