    rss feeds

I had messaged a couple of months ago regarding RSS feeds for blogs - the ability for users to subscribe to a notification system that alerted users about a new blog post or forum discussion entry/reply. Our board hope to have the ability to provide whatever email address they wish to receive these email alerts, containing a link to the particular blog or discussion thread in question. At the time it was mentioned that this feature may be added at the end of Q1 or perhaps sometime in Q2, wondering if that feature is still coming down the pipe. If it's already available, how might one go about utilizing it?<br/><br/>A second question I have along the RSS feed lines is, with event calendars, is there any way to receive an RSS feed in a calendar view? We love using the service for our secure board website, however we want to incorporate just the events calendar portion on our main organizational website so that the general public can see what various board and community members are up to without having to view the side bar and top banner. i'm not at all sure if that is clear. basically we would like to accomplish something along the lines of: http://www.internationalregion.com/calendar.asp, but without having to view the &quot;the gateway to opportunity&quot; top bar, and all the side navigation.<br/><br/>Any feedback on either of this points would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

    Re: rss feeds

    Hello,

Re notifications: we had to postpone this due to some work we have initiated on Payment process, but it is getting to the head of the queue soon (first for forums since for blogs there is a workaround with a third-party RSSo-to-email tools like FeedBurner.)

I am not quite sure about your second question. If you have a publicly accessible event list, it can be 'embedded easily into any other website - simply add 'widget/' into the page address after the domain and you will get something like http://accalliance.memberlodge.org/widget/Default.aspx?pageId=22211&ListMode=2&SelectedDate=4/29/2008&CalendarView=0

(which you can embed with an iframe)

    Re: rss feeds

thanks - your information about the iframe was exactly what we needed.

wondering about rss-to-email notification. i don't mean to be a bugger, but it is a feature our board is interested in and just wondering if you have an idea when it may be completed. thanks so much, you guys are doing an awesome job here! the board loves the usability of the site.

    Re: rss feeds

    Hi Ed,

We started development on forum notifications by email and it should be released around end of June.

However this applies to the forum module, the blog module is a bit lower in the pipeline.
