I have subscribed to Wild Apricot, and am still in the Test Drive phase.  

We have several different subgroups in our mailing list -- Volunteers, Vendors, Sponsors, Performers, etc., as well as paid Members vs. "interested friends".  These are coded in the data fields.

I want to send certain messages to some groups and not others.  How do I select by field attribute the people or subgroups I want to mail to?

Right now you can do this if you use Member levels for subgroups. Then in Member list screen simply enter Volunteers and you will have a matching selection.

We are currently working on 'Advanced search' function which will allow you to search by any combination of all fields (including custom fields you added). Expect to see it early March.

Any estimated time of arrival for this feature? We will really need it. Currently I only see Name, Organization and Membership. An alumni association will need more things like "Graduating Year" to make it interesting for their members.

As admins, will we be able to customize the column headings that first appear in the Members directory page? Or is this only a search capability?

We did release the advanced search functionality for member list (admin view) a couple of weeks ago so you (as administrator) can now do filtering by any of the custom fields (e.g. graduating year).

 Advanced search for member directory (public or member view) is planned to be released early April.

Customization of what fields appear in member directory list is planned for late April - early May.

Thanks for your patience - we are working on a bunch of other enhancements and new features which we hope will make the system even more suitable and easier to use for many customers. 

Can you describe in fuller detail how to email a Subgroup?

 
I saw your explanation above - we have the groups we want to email organized by Membership level.  However, I only see a button for "Email All Members."  Or, if I search, the list comes but with the emails in a grid and no option to email that grouping.

How can we email a membership level?
