I think I understand where you are coming from - it sounds like email verification is the biggest driver, correct?  

We will make a note of this, though it's a pretty big change in the workflow and this is the first time we have received this particular request so it will be a while before we get to this - unless we get more requests of similar nature.

There are reasons for doing this:

At least the applicant can verify if they enter their email addreas correctly; also the applicant has to be serious enought to complete the registration; in addition, make sure admin can sent renewal/ event registeration/ news letters emails to members succefully in the future....

Or if possible, we can add "Re-enter email " field in member data base, if the address is not the same, it won't allow to go to next step...can WA add this function?
