    Forum Format & Timeline

Hello!  This is my first time posting as I have just begun to craft a Wild Apricot site for my organizations new online community and have found it simple and useful thus far.

One feature that I know you are working to offer, and that is neccessary for our community, are forums.  I'm curious as to whether the format will be similar to these forums for the purpose of displaying screen-shot samples.  Also, is there any estimate for release date?  I tried to find this in existing posts but one stated July 2007 which, hopefully, means it will be rolled out soon.

    Thanks!

    Re: Forum Format & Timeline

    Hello,

We have been postponing forums several times as we had some other high-demand features requested by customers. (We prioritize all pending requests every few weeks based on client requests - see http://www.wildapricot.com/ongoing-innovation-release-history.aspx )

It has finally made its way into development - we finished visual design a week ago and started development this Monday. It will be released in 3 weeks. It should be quite robust, though our general approach is to keep first version as simple as possible and address core needs - and then enhance based on user feedback.

FYI, our blog module (one of the things which pushed down the forums) is available since June and allows posts (i.e. not only replies) by members so can be used as a forum of sorts.

Thank you for your reply.  It is very encouraging that nearly every question I have read here gets a response that the feature is 'in the works!'  I can't wait to see and utilize all of these great tools that you are busy working on!

    Re: Forum Format & Timeline

We have set out to build the best tool in the world for clubs, associations and non-profits - for membership management, online community website and related things. That's a big chunk so it takes a bit of time to do everything we want - but we pay a lot of attention to client feedback and we think we are making good progress.
