I'd like to know how to add hot spots to my website so that people can just click on certain spots to be sent to those locations -- ie other websites or email addresses or other pages in my website.

It sounds like you mean links. Click on link button in the toolbar - it covers all three situations (links to other pages, links to other sites, links to emails)
