    Import Problem

    Hello...problem du jour...

I have a membership category of CNT Member. I export the names, change this in the spreadsheet, and import back in. It shows errors, and will not change the membership category. I really don't want to change 120 records by hand.

    Your assistance is appreciated.

Membership category - do you mean Member level or something else?

One idea is to re-check the spelling: create a few member records by hand with the appropriate levels and then in the export file you can copy-paste from these dummy records into the ones you want to update.

Also, it shows errors - what specific errors? (During import you can download a file which will contain your newly imported file with error messages spelled out for each record - did you look at those?)

    Re: Import Problem

Membership Category, it is spelled exactly the same. We did setup a few correctly and did an export, and simply did a replace on that column. The error file was difficult to read. Could you do an export and reimport? Just change the member level from

    Member

     to

     CNT Member

The other error said we needed a password, but they had not been set up yet...I just put in 12345 as a default.

     Thanks for any assistance...

    Re: Import Problem

We run export, copy-pasted CNT member to all records and imported back - it seemed to work fine, no problems. The only warning file had was about password, which is fine (we actually need to reword this since these are not actually errors, just notices/warnings!)

Let me know if you have any further troubles doing similar things via export/import - we really want to get to the bottom of this to make sure none of our clients have any troubles with it.
