When I place and event that runs for a series of time such as May 11 to June 11, the system places it as a past event after May 11 even though it should still be active.  Is there a way to correct this so that it shows as a current event?

Right now there is no way to change it, though this question has come up before and we are considering changing this behavior.

You might want to change the default view to calendar one (since it shows active and past events together)
