  Re: Finding a volunteer Reply Quote The concept is good and site is nice-looking. However, free service is for one ZIP code only - which does not make since for an organization in any city. Multi-zip postings cost money - 50 cents per each ZIP code. And I could not understand from their services page if it requires a paid account ("Community Leader", ~$9/month) And their search interface is not very easy to use - too many complicated fields and options. I am sure they could have substantially improve the site by simplifying the search.

However, after reading and trying to apply this framework I found it quite useful as a way to think through all the necessary steps: Introduction Why Recruit? Step 1 - Define The Job Step 2: Determine Job Qualifications Step 3: Develop a List of Potential Candidates Step 4: Interview the Volunteer Step 5: Appoint the Volunteer Additional Recruitment Tips Final Thoughts References I think that if we all take more time on upfront thinking before engaging volunteers, we will have fewer disappointments - and can achieve more!
