DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards: Are You In?

Did your nonprofit produce a video in 2009? The DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards is looking for the best nonprofit videos of the year, with a chance for great public exposure, $2500 for your organization, and other great prizes. Submissions are open until March 19, 2010 — there's no fee to enter — so get in on this contest if you can!

The contest will award a total of $10,000 in grants — $2500 in each of four categories — as well as a feature spot on YouTube’s homepage and a video screening at a special event in Washington DC, hosted by Nomadsland.com.  All finalists will receive a custom Flip HD Video camera, and the winner in the “Small Orgs” category will also get free registration to NTC 2011, next year’s edition of the biggest and best nonprofit technology conference around, to be held in in Washington DC.

Nonprofits in the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom are eligible to enter the contest, as long as your organization is a member of YouTube for Nonprofits program. (Not a member yet? Apply at www.youtube.com/nonprofits: it’s free and should take you just about 10 minutes.)

Submissions will be accepted until March 19, 2010.

A panel of expert judges — including Guy Kawasaki, Gary Vaynerchuk, Beth Kanter and other experts in nonprofit marketing, video, and social media — will select four finalists in each category:

  • Best Small Org Video
  • Best Medium Org Video
  • Best Large Org Video
  • Best Innovation in Video

Public voting on the finalists will open on March 29 and end on April 7, and the winners will be announced on the YouTube homepage and recognized at NTC 2010 on Saturday, April 10, 2010.

See the official Contest Rules and FAQ for more information, or visit www.youtube.com/nonprofitvideoawards to enter.

The DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards are presented by See3 Communications and YouTube, with support from the Case Foundation, Flip Video, and the Nonprofit Technology Network.

Hi Rebecca - I wanted to let you know that the deadline is March 19, not March 12.  There was a mistake in the original release.  Thanks!

Thanks, Elliot, I'll edit the post to reflect the March 19 deadline -  I'm sure the extra week will welcome to Australian and Canadian nonprofits who just discovered they're now eligible for the YouTube program. :-)
