No time, no budget, and no skilled resources available for your nonprofit
to dive into web analytics, let alone to try to make sense of what the numbers
mean for your goals and objectives? The Analysis Exchange wants to help — at no cost to your organization. In
exchange for a couple hours of your time, this new mentorship program /
marketplace can provide your nonprofit with valuable insights into
what your web metrics say about the organization’s online efforts,
while helping to train new web analysts to meet the needs of a rapidly
growing industry.
How The Analysis Exchange works
It's a pretty straightforward three-part process: Nonprofit organizations submit a project for analysis resources; students are matched with projects based on their individual skills; and mentors are assigned to collaborate with students on each project.
What kinds of projects qualify?
Many programs for nonprofits do seem best suited to the needs of large national organizations, which can be frustrating for smaller, local, member-driven groups. In this case, however — fortunately — The Analysis Exchange appears to accomodate a wide range of organizations, including small nonprofits with fairly simple requirements as well as the big guns:
Projects can focus on basic analysis of web site metrics like
monthly traffic, most popular pages, and time spent on site using Web
Analytics tools currently installed on the site. Or projects can
include more specific analysis of web site objectives such as:
registration of volunteers, online donations, or campaign effectiveness.
Everyone benefits:
Nonprofits get help to solve their real-world problems and make
data-driven decisions about their web and presence, so you can put the
bulk of your online efforts where they will bring the best returns to
match your goals.
Students receive the real-world experience they’ll need to pursue a career in web analytics.
Mentors gain greater recognition of their skills and solidify their
professional reputations, while helping to shape the very future of
their industry.
