What’s a mascot without a name?
Wild Apricot’s friendly little
apricot mascot has been with us for three years now, but he’s never
had a name. Time to change that! And since Wild Apricot is dedicated to
“crowdsourcing,” we’d like to ask your help to find the perfect name
for an apricot.
(Yes, there will be cool prizes!)
"Name the Apricot" Contest
Any Facebook user with a knack for names is eligible to enter our “Name the Apricot” Contest at http://facebook.com/wildapricot (click the Contests tab). Here’s how it works:
November 10 (9 a.m. ET) - November 23 (5 p.m. ET):
Enter as many names as you want, and add a note to explain why your suggestion is the Best. Apricot. Name. Ever.
November 27 (9 a.m. ET):
We’ll pick up to five of our favorite names as finalists, and post them on the Wild Apricot Facebook Fan Page.
Then you get to vote for the winner! You can vote for your favourite name once every day until December 7, 2009, at 5:00 pm ET. — and the name with the most votes will become the official name of Wild Apricot’s mascot.
But wait, there’s more...
Name the Wild Apricot Mascot and Win a New Flip Video Camera
We've got prizes for the finalists and the winner. (Did we
mention the cool prizes?) The finalists will each get a coveted Wild Apricot prize
pack containing a bunch of fun stuff. The winner — the name that gets
the most votes — will also get a custom one-of-a-kind Flip video camera
with a very special Wild Apricot graphic treatment.
So put your thinking cap on, and start brainstorming apricot names.
Here are a few useful facts to get you started:

- An apricot is a small sweet fruit with a golden orange color.
