I'm going on maternity leave!

This blog will be in good hands while I'm away, though.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to put a brief post on the blog about some exciting news and my upcoming time off. Yes ..it's true! I'm officially going on maternity leave for 1 year starting February 1st. My due date is February 14th and I am so looking forward to welcoming our first baby to our family. Wish me luck!

In the meantime, we have a new member to our Wild Apricot team lined up to continue with the blog - Rebecca Leaman. A freelance writer and editor, Rebecca enjoys working with a variety of nonprofits and community groups, as well as small businesses and the public sector, with a special emphasis on public education. Trained as a teacher, she began her career as a technical writer on environmental issues, refined her editing skills with a literary publisher, then spent a year "in the trenches" of a small nonprofit group as a fundraiser. We started working together in the last couple of weeks and I'm happy to say that this blog will be in good hands.

I just had my first real conversation with my 22-month-old (it revolved around juice and the fact that Daddy had gone to the store) and I just couldn't believe it. Best wishes for your family!
