LOL nptech: much needed comic relief for the nonprofit technology community

Need all the humor you can get? Then head on over to the fun and inspiring LOLnptech.org website. Thanks to Jeff Tuller, (with encouragement from Allan Benamer and Deborah Elizabeth Finn) for creating this humorous blog. Filled with funny pictures from public Flickr streams this blog is for anyone who wants to escape the real world and have some fun!

We also do our share of nptech humor here at Wild Apricot. On our blog, we often post funny cartoons that puts a little spin of humor into issues facing non-profit organizations. You can see all our previous cartoons here.

We also believe that it is important to have a bit of fun in whatever you do, however serious is your cause and mission. So we always take the time to celebrate each holiday by replacing our standard Wild Apricot logo with a special holiday version. (Idea borrowed from Google :-) - they do the same.)

For instance, for Halloween, we created these really funny logos:

And for Valentine's day, we had this one:

And here are a bunch of other Wild Apricot holiday logos:

(and this old blog post shows all other logo options we went through: The birth of Wild Apricot logo)

You get the idea.

How do you inject a bit of fun and silliness into your work? As you know, all work and no fun... is not a good idea!

  • How web masters and administrators can do more with less
  • Web 2.0 and Social Media trends
  • Ease of use - technologies that delight you and those that frustrate you
  • Industry news and upcoming events
  • Case studies and best practices

You will also see occasional posts about Wild Apricot product but we strive to be unbiased and helpful and focus on broader issues of interest to member-based, charitable and community organizations - so they can use web technology more efficiently.
