Wild Apricot Updates - Release 2.19

(Wild Apricot software is sponsoring this blog so we can include occasional posts about its software updates and related items. Wild Apricot is an easy to use and very affordable ($12-$200/month) web software for member database management, event registrations, online donations, mass emails and related features. Free 30 day trial is available at register.wildapricot.com)

Version 2.19 has been released on June 1st and includes the following key changes:

Tracking overdue renewals

We added an additional filter to the members summary list. Now you can instantly see a count and list of members with overdue renewal date.

Web page editor functions to change text font/color/size

In the webpage editor, we previously restricted formatting options to a selection of styles matching your selected theme - anything else had to be done via HTML editing or copy-pasting from other systems. Now you can wild and change the fonts and sizes to make your webpages as beautiful (or as ugly :-) ) as you wish.

WebDAV support for CSS customization (Warning: Geeks only :-) )

We’ve extended CSS customization with the capability to load images via WebDAV to use with your CSS customization. Our Knowledge Base provides detailed examples.

Member Directory Changes

To speed up the Member directory page, the Advanced search mode now loads by default. We also added the ability to hide system fields such as name and email from the member directory.

Content templates for new Wild Apricot accounts

Now that we saw a wide variety of organizations using Wild Apricot, we wanted to make it easier for them to figure the system out. After all, the way a professional association uses it is different from a charity, a support group, alumni group, toastmasters club, environmental advocacy etc. So we have created a number of content templates tailored for some of the most common non-profit types. We have seven templates now that new users can select from when opening a new Wild Apricot account. These include professional and trade associations; conferences and events; charity organizations; churches and faith based groups; hobby clubs; social causes and support groups; and condo and homeowners associations.

Referrals/affiliate functionality

We have implemented an ability for our clients to spread the word - email their friends about Wild Apricot and even (if they desire to do so) earn affiliate commissions on their referrals.

Upcoming updates

Our next release is scheduled for end of June. We will release a beta version of our blog module, enable differentiation of access for different administrators and many other useful changes. Keep your feedback coming!
