Wild Apricot release 2.16 - CSS, email customization and more

We are pleased to announce the release of our Wild Apricot 2.16 (our 16th update since July 2006). Key new features and enhancements include:

CSS Customization

One significant enhancement - frequently requested by tech-savvy users - is CSS Customization (Cascading StyleSheets Overlay) . CSS customization gives you fine-grain control over the visual design of your Wild Apricot website. You can now change fonts, colors, text sizes, links - and many other attributes of your website template (menu, headers, footers and main page area).

We also added two new themes to help get you started using CSS  - they use no CSS images and thus can be easily customized.

Member Application E-mail Customization

Administrators can now customize the emails sent to new members after submitting a new member application. You can edit email text as well as insert information from the member application. You can separately customize emails for applications with online and offline (manual) payment; for free and paid memberships; for confirmed and pending applications

In the near future, we will add the ability to customize member renewal emails in the same way.

Event Registration Email Customization

We’ve also added the ability for administrators to customize the event registration confirmation emails that go out to registered attendees. You can customize those emails for free and paid registrations; for manual and online payments, pending and confirmed ones.

Pages Templates

Adding new pages was challenging for some users - they did not know how to create pages for member only access, make nested pages or formatted pages into multiple columns.

In this version, we changed the way new pages are created. A mini-wizard helps to select an appropriate layout and specify page visibility, access (public/members) and menu placement settings.

Member Advanced Search - for administrators

We modified the advanced search to include Wild Apricot system fields. Now administrators can search by membership level, notes, created date, membership status and more.

Member Directory Advanced Search - for public and/or members

We added the advanced search capability on the member directory page. Now members and public can search the member database by any of the database fields allowed by administrator - e.g. city, industry, gender or anything else.

Export Functionality

The export feature has been revised to be faster and more reliable. Now all export features use your current search result records and all export files are in an XML Spreadsheet format. We also included custom registration fields into event attendees export file.

Event Date Selection

Minor - but frequent! - complaint was that our date selector was sluggish and not very convenient. New date selector works much faster and allows to directly type into date fields.

We hope you will find these enhancements useful and appreciate your ongoing feedback.
