We are very excited that we've released our first new Wild Apricot update in 2007! (and 12th overall since the beta version launch in July 2006).

As always, our sincerest thanks to everyone for providing their feedback and ideas. All of the latest features continue to increase the usability (ease of use) and functionality of Wild Apricot. This update was relatively minor as we were getting up to speed after the holidays and concentrating on the product roadmap for 2007. We have a lot of very interesting features planned this year - addressing your requests - and applying our own knowledge and expertise of modern web trends to the non-profit industry.

In brief, the latest update included:

You will now see on some pages "usage tip" pop-ups with hints about different functions on particular screens. It will help you learn more about available functions and get your Wild Apricot system up and running quickly. (I would like to point out that this feature can become even more useful with your feedback, so please feel free to share your ideas on other tips we could add in the future.)

We've enhanced the e-mail feature to make it easier for you to spread the word. Now you can bulk-email attendees across all your past and current events - for example to tell them about new events, membership promotions and fundraising initiatives.

We added an RSS feed to the Events page on your website. Now your members and the public can use their favorite RSS reader to stay up-to-date with your events program and never miss any of your events!

You'll also be able to enter past events on your website. This is especially helpful if you are transferring to Wild Apricot from another system - now you can keep the history of your events documents, pictures and attendees lists together in one place and for all your visitors to see.

Many people copy-paste content from Microsoft Word (or from other software or other websites) into Wild Apricot. This usually works fine, though it does insert invisible crazy formatting codes into Wild Apricot webpages which might mess it up on some machines or under some browsers. So we added a button to the page editor ('Cleanup HTML') which tries to preserve as much of the original formatting as possible while cleaning all the extraneous codes.

Finally, some other small additions you will notice are the ability for administrators to set their member's password (before only members could reset their passwords themselves) and changed Picture, Document and Link buttons on the webpage editor to make them more obvious.

There will be many more new features in the coming months, but try out these features for now and let us know what you think.
