In our last post – Online Surveys – Tips and Tools – we offered five tips on how to use online surveys to gather information and insight from members and supporters. One of the tips was a reminder about the importance of promoting the online survey to increase participation. While we suggested promoting the survey on Facebook, with some online survey tools you can actually embed your survey right on your Facebook page.
Since we use SurveyMonkey for our Wild Apricot customer and blog reader surveys – like the Membership Renewal Survey we reported on recently – we decided to try using their Facebook app to embed a mini survey about event reminders on our Wild Apricot Facebook page. Check it out, and if you host member or fundraising events, we hope you’ll participate in the survey!

With this feature you can promote your survey on Facebook, enable your members or supporters to participate and share the survey with others while still collecting and analysing the survey results through your SurveyMonkey account.
How do I embed a survey on my Facebook Page?
To use the SurveyMonkey Facebook App, you need to use “Facebook Connect” to link your Facebook and SurveyMonkey accounts. Once you do that, a SurveyMonkey icon is included on your Facebook page – here’s what it looks like:
