Customer Case Study - Featured website

Northampton Area Chamber of Commerce

"Non-profits, in order to thrive in the 21st century, must adapt and adopt newer communications and recruiting methods. The "push" technologies included within WA such as RSS, email newsletters, online member management will allow small organizations to remain relevant and competitive in the information age." Kurt Paccio

Until recently, Northampton Area Chamber of Commerce (NACC) had a static website. Trying to draw traffic to their site was a constant struggle. Much of the communication that was being posted was also being mailed or emailed. With few visitors the efforts to maintain their website diminished.

After researching the available solutions, NACC has come across Wild Apricot - which, as it turned out, helped to solve not just the website updates issue but much broader issues related to Membership Management.

Here are the features NACC has found to be of the most use:

  • Event RSS feeds to keep people up-to-date about meetings and conferences
  • Self-service member features which allow members to login, update their own profile, renew membership, change member directory preferences, pay membership dues and event registration fees
  • Easy integration with third party web resources such as online photo sharing and video sharing sites (e.g. BubbleShare, YouTube, Google Videos) and more. See Wild Apricot knowledge base article

Most importantly, the ease of use allows novice computer users to update the site. Now NACC can assign web site maintenance tasks to existing staff members or volunteers without the need for expensive technical training.
